Today was nonstop from beginning to end, just the way I like it! (although one of these days I'm really gona need to be able to just veg out) It started with a trip to Effingham for a Nazarene Clergy Christmas Banquet, then getting to experience a place called Bandana's BBQ for the first time, and finally the first Madrigal I've ever attended!
All food was good...Banquet turkey and Madrigal Chicken Cordon Bleu was a 7 out of 10, basically due to being made in large quantities for the number of people at the event, and Bandana's Ribs were an exceptional 10 out of 10! Lot's of meat on the bones, tender, juicy, and messy....but not uncomfortably messy!
It's the Madrigal that was the highlight of my day. I've had friends that performed in madrigals, but I had never been to one, and for my first one to be at O'Fallon's Milburn High School Campus, I may have gotten spoiled! To not spoil it for you, if you haven't been to one yet, I won't go into too many details, except to say I felt like I had gone back in time for a 2 hour visit of Midieval England! We were served by the students, and treated like royal guests! The music was phenominal, and I teared up twice!
