What If

A poem I wrote about a friend:

WHAT IF
What if your life changed right before your eyes?
What if just "hello" could clear your troubled skies?
What if unknowing began to change your day,
And the word that left you speechless became the simplest thing to say?
What if you couldn't stop the joy you feel inside,
Like the beating of your heart when you race a twisted slide,
Every moment knowing that you're not the only one
Who feels the words of butterflies could warm you like the sun?
What if your longing was to read a stranger's word,
'Cause in every measure given comes a friendship as a cure?
When once your blinded vision was a tangled mess of lies,
Could the longing just to hear her voice
Change your life before your eyes?
